Looking Back and Leaning Forward

2019 has been an incredible year for the Muskingum Valley Council.

We started the year with the entire council operating out of two conference rooms. One served as the Scout Store and the other housed four field staff, two support staff, the copy machine, the server, and all files and records needed to keep the council running. We end the year fully settled-in to our beautiful and functional Scouting Resource Center.

One year ago there were no girls in Scouts BSA. Today we we have 10 Scouts BSA Troops for girls. We have had several Girl Troops attend summer camp and these young ladies are enthusiastic and engaged. We may even have our first young lady earn her Eagle Scout in the coming year!

We started the year serving 80 units in 7.5 counties. Today our family has grown to 110 units in 9.5 counties thanks to the addition of Washington County, Ohio and Pleasants County & Williamstown, West Virginia. We are working hard to serve these units and make them feel welcome.

It has truly been a momentous year and we are very grateful to all who helped with their time, talent and treasure. Our continued success as a council depends on the generosity of so many people; Unit level leaders, Committee Members, District and Council volunteers and so many generous donors. Thank you!

I hope you are all as excited as I am to see what 2020 brings!
