Year-Round Camping

For information about conducting an activity at MVSR, or reserving MVSR, please call  the Council Office 740-453-0571 or  800-934-2128.

To reserve the facilities, schedule a program or rent equipment, complete the:

MVSR Facilities Use Request Form

Units, families or individuals wishing to use the camp property are to complete a Facility Use Request Form and submit it to the Council Service Center at least two weeks in advance of your planned visit. Earlier is better. Once the visit is approved, the Facility Use Request Form will be returned to the unit and should be brought with the group when you visit.

On your arrival at camp, you must sign your group in at the Ranger’s Office. There is a clip board on the wall of the ranger’s house, if he is not available when you arrive. At no time, should you proceed into the camp property if the “Closed for Hunting” sign is on the main gate.

Cabin Camping:

We currently offer two cabins for comfortable winter camping.

The Handicraft building converts to a winter cabin heated by wood burnng stove.  There is room for aproximately 2 adults, 12 youth and several picnic tables.  Contact Ranger Ron to discuss your specific needs then contact the Council service center to reserve the building.

Our newest cabin is the Perkins Lodge dedicated in honor of Mr. Perkins long time Camp Ranger.  This cabin also offers a woodburning stove to provide warmth on cold winter weekends. Perkins Lodge Sleeps 4 Adults and 16 youth.
