August 1st is World Scout Scarf Day

Every year, to commemorate the first ever Boy Scout Camp held in 1907 by Lord Baden-Powell on Brownsea Island. Scouts and Scouters around the world, both active and former, observe World Scout Scarf Day, with the motto “once a scout…always a scout”.  World Scout Scarf Day is a day to show the history as well as the commonality of scouting programs around the world.  The Neckerchief, as it is referred to in Scouts BSA, is worn by scouting organizations around the world, so show your scout spirit by wearing yours for the day, to your religious services, as part of a scout outing, or just for fun!  Patches are available for order at $5.00 each, and more information can be found at
